WEST PLAINS, MO -- The Springfield Catholic High School volleyball team was at the West Plains Civic Center Saturday taking part in the West Plains Showdown Tournament. The Lady Irish came away with a championship against the loaded field. 

After taking the teams' first loss in the opening round of pool play, the Lady Irish ran off 5 consecutive wins to claim the title. 

On the route to the championship, the Irish avenged their earlier loss against Rolla, took down the host Zizzers, and beat the Mountain Home Bombers in two sets (25-23, 25-20). 

The Lady Irish are back in action on Monday, hosting Clever.
