Lady Irish Tennis Dominate 2023 Season
The Lady Irish Tennis Team had an amazing season in 2023 going 13-1, with their only loss being in the Sectional Round of the State Tournament.
The Lady Irish dominated the Big 8 Conference Tournament with Lila Griesemer, Caroline Nelson, Britney Ung, Rylee Starnes, Paige Starnes, and Bella Passanise winning their Singles competitions and receiving All-Conference Honors. Lila Griesemer was Conference Player of the Year.
In Doubles, Griesemer/Nelson won #1 Doubles, Ung/Passanise finished 2nd in #2 Doubles, Starnes/Starnes won #3 Doubles. Griesemer/Nelson were also named Doubles Team of the Year.
The momentum continued into the Individual District Tournament, Caroline Nelson finished 1st and Lila Griesemer finished 2nd in Singles. In the Doubles District Tournament, Hannah Lee/Britney Ung finished 2nd and Rylee Starnes/Paige Starnes finished 3rd.
In the Individuals State Tournament, Caroline Nelson and Lila Griesemer advanced to the State Tournament as individuals placing 5th and 6th respectively. Hannah Lee & Britney Ung advanced to the State Tournament in Doubles placing 4th.
