Lady Irish finish storybook season with 3rd straight MSHSAA title

NEW BLOOMFIELD, MO -- The 2021 Lady Irish entered the season with a large target on their backs. After winning MSHSAA State titles in 2019 and 2020, the team had established themselves as the team to beat in 2021. The girls did not disappoint, winning all seven tournament that they entered on the season and setting multiple MSHSAA team records in the process. The team set new all-time MSHSAA marks for 18-hole tournaments, shooting a 290 (+10) at par 70 Horton Smith; 284 (E) at par 71 Bill & Payne Stewart, and 305 (+17) at par 72 at Silo Ridge. As of today, the team can add one last MSHSAA mark to their legacy after breaking their own 36-hole record for a par 72 course. The team finished with a 613, 90 strokes ahead of the 2nd place finisher and breaking the team record they just set last season by 27 strokes.

The momentum the team established through the season did not seem to wane on Monday. The team managed to card three of the top 4 scores on the day and finished the opening round with a 45-stroke cushion over Father Tolton. The Irish were lead by Arkansas commit Reagan Zibilski who shot 66 (-6). Her teammates weren't far behind; Kyleigh Pfitzner finished with a 76 (+4) and Lyla Louderbaugh was next with a 77 (+5). Celia Stiltner carded an 88 (+16) and Reagan West finished at 100 (+28) on the day.

This buffer gave the team the comfort it needed to cap off their third consecutive MSHSAA title. The team was lead by Reagan Zibilski who followed up her opening 66 with a 73. Lyla Louderbaugh came in with the low round of the day at 72. Kyleigh Pfitzner finished with a 78, Celia Stiltner improved 5 strokes with an 83 and Reagan West also improved 5 strokes with a 95.

The win gave Zibilski her 2nd consecutive state champion and gave the Irish program their 4th straight individual champion (Kayla Pfitner 2018, 2019; Reagan Zibilski 2020, 2021). The strong finish also gave Zibilski, Loudrbaugh, Pfitner, and Stiltner MSHSAA C3 All-State Honors.
