The Lady Irish crushed the Forsyth Panthers in the opening round of the C3D11 District tournament hosted at Sparta, MO on February 21st, 2023.  Trailing 13-15 at the end of the first quarter, Catholic captured the lead in the second and never relinquished it the rest of the game. Overall, the team shot 50% from the field in a balanced scoring attack led by Olivia Swisshelm (16 points), Peyton Wiseman (13 points), Katie Galligos (13 points), Alice Farmer (6 points) and Madeline Small (4 points). Lila Griesemer also contributed 3 points and Annabelle tossed in another 2 points.

The Irish team stymied the Panthers defensively led by Lila Griesemer who blocked multiple shots to effectively shut down penetration in the lane and an overall energized Catholic squad that generated turnovers across the court. With the win, the Lady Irish look to avenge a mid-season loss to Fair Grove on Thursday, February 23rd at 6:00pm at Sparta High School
