Lady Irish battle to title game in Lady Lion Invitational

MANSFIELD, MO -- The Lady Irish came into 31st Lady Lion Invitational riding a 3-game win streak while also winning five of their last 6th games. Their recent performace earned them a 3-seed in the 8-team field and an opening round matchup with Mountain Grove. The Lady Irish eliminated the Panthers winning by 10 in the process. 

In the second round, Catholic would face #2 seed Houston. The Lady Irish would win that contest by one, setting up a championship game against host Mansfield. The Lady Irish fell short in the pursuit of their first tourmament championship since 2016, losing to the Lady Lions 60-40.

In addition, Avery Ahlstrand was named to the Lady Lion Invitational All-Tournament Team.

The Lady Irish will pick up Big 8 Conference action at home against Hollister on Monday.
