Lady Irish Cross Country Earn 8th at State

The Lady Irish, led by Emma Belk's All-State performance, finished 8th at the State XC Championship race in Columbia.  Belk (19:31) finished 18th overall and ran the school's fastest time ever for a girl at the state meet.  Katie Galligos, Elliana Lygrisse, Kate Hull and Macie Kelly were Catholic's other top 5 scored runners followed by Kaya McClanahan and Elizabeth Fairchild. Irish freshman Kyle Hathcock was again Catholic's top finisher.  The Lady Irish were the top ranking Class 3 team in SW Missouri. Clayton Eck, Parker Foster, Gabe ADT, Rocco Palazzolo were other top 5 finishers. Gavin Pyck and Chris Todd were sixth and seventh respectively as the team placed 13th overall and second among SW Region schools.

Post Season Awards: Four Catholic girls and four boys gained All SW Region postseason honors at the annual coaches' meeting. Emma Belk was named All-Region first team, Katie Galligos was named Second-Team while Kate Hull and Elliana Lygrisse were Third-Team members. Kyle Hathcock was named to the boys' First-Team while Clayton Eck was a  Second-Team selection; Parker Foster and Gabe Auzias de Turenne were named to the Third-Team. The regional coaches annually gather following the state championship race to select first, second and third team members based upon their seasonal performances.
