Hot bats lead the Irish past Strafford

STRAFFORD, MO -- Will Duff helped lead Springfield Catholic Fighting Irish Varsity past Strafford 9-3 on Wednesday. Will racked up 6 RBI with a two-run shot in the first and a grand slam in the top of the 6th.

The Irish jumped out to a quick lead in the first and would not surrender the lead the rest of the game. Zach Cole pitched the Irish to victory, surrendering one run on two hits over 2-1/3 innings, striking out five and giving up no walks. Carter Bither and Zach Shelangoski entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

The Irish had their best offensive outing of the season racking up 11 hits against the Indians. Collin Davis, Carter Bither, Will Duff, and Jeremy Rader each managed multiple hits for the Irish. Davis led Springfield Catholic Fighting Irish Varsity with three hits in four at bats.
